Tucson Alliance For Autism

You Can Help!

Donations

Your tax deductible cash and in-kind donations will help the Tucson Alliance for Autism continue to grow in its ability to provide a broad array of high quality services to individuals of all ages and their families.  Every dollar makes a difference in moving us forward to an expanded, state-of-the-art center in Tucson and ranch style educational/respite program in the Santa Rita Mountains. In-kind donations are also welcomed.  If you have goods or services to donate, please contact TAFA at (520)319-5857.

No donation is too small!  Please make your check payable to:  the Tucson Alliance for Autism (TAFA) and mail it to the Tucson Alliance for Autism, 1002 N. Country Club, Tucson, AZ  85716 or drop it off at the center during regular business hours. Please specify on your check where to apply your donation: 1) building, 2) scholarships, 3) ranch.The Tucson Alliance for Autism appreciates your continued support!

Volunteers are Needed!

In today’s world the assistance of volunteers within almost every nonprofit organization is vital.  Because the Tucson Alliance for Autism funds are very limited, volunteers are needed to perform the many tasks the Tucson Alliance for Autism staff often do not have the time or resources to complete.  Volunteers provide those “extra touches” of care and assistance that benefit the individuals served by the Tucson Alliance for Autism.

Who can Volunteer?

The Tucson Alliance for Autism welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, both men and women. Young people about to enter the world of work can just as well as those who are retired become valued members of the Tucson Alliance for Autism team. The Tucson Alliance for Autism deals with all volunteers fairly and without discrimination because of age, disability, race, religion, color, sex, creed, national origin, or political affiliation.

Even employees of the Tucson Alliance for Autism can become volunteers, but only in capacities that are different from their normal, paid jobs. This restriction is necessary to comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

There are prohibitions for individuals convicted of certain offenses, child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and drug-related offenses.

Who Should Volunteer?

The Tucson Alliance for Autism is looking for volunteers who are:

  • friendly, warm, and caring;
  • emotionally mature;
  • sincere in their desire to give time and service to others; and
  • able to relate to individuals with Autism.

 What Expectations Exist?

All persons, whether paid or unpaid, who work for the Tucson Alliance for Autism are expected to make a commitment - a commitment to the Tucson Alliance for Autism mission, to the people served by the Tucson Alliance for Autism, and to doing the very best job possible. Volunteers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of persons served, to strictly adhere to the code of ethics, and to represent the best interests of the agency.

If you are interested in a volunteer position with the Tucson Alliance for Autism, please contact Angela Canale at  (520) 319-5857 for more information.
