Upcoming Events:
- Craig's House -- Pilot Launched!
The newly created DVD "Craig's House" is set in a colorful, interactive, virtual environment to teach basic life skills to
individuals diagnosed with autism. It was developed by Tucson High Magnet School senior Margo Johnson during her summer
internship at the LTC.
- Mozart and the Whale
To be released on Sony Home Video on 12/12/06.
A dramatic, romantic comedy, "Mozart and the Whale" is inspired by the lives of two people with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of
autism, whose emotional dysfunctions threaten to sabotage their budding romance. Donald (Josh Hartnett) is a good-natured but
hapless taxi driver with a love of birds and a superhuman knack for numbers. Like many AS sufferers, he likes patterns and
routines. But when the beautiful but complicated Isabelle (Radha Mitchell) joins the autism support group he leads, his life-and
his heart-are turned upside down.
This movie is inspired by two real-life Tucson residents, Jerry Newport and Mary Meinel, who have appeared on "Sixty Minutes"
twice and sold their life story rights to Stephen Spielberg in 1996. Their life story, with the same name as the movie, will be
published in 2007 by Simon and Schuster.
